1. Armory link
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... &cn=Relynq

1a. If your spec is different than armory, link your spec.

1b. Explain why you geared this way (something more than this dropped so I put it on or this gives me the most dps).
I geared this way based on my experience, the experience of other shamans I respect, as well as the gear that I have available. Yes, I know I have my Abyssal Rune on, but for so long we did 4/5 25ToGC so I never had a chance at Reign of the Dead

1c. What is your secondary spec and its relative gear level?
Restoration secondary spec, 6200+ Gearscore. I have beaten pallies on 25 Heroic Dreamwalker (stacks fell off but still), and I have experience healing 9/12 Heroic 25ICC.

1d. How much gold do you have available?
Currently only about 25k, and it has been staying right around that for a while.

2. Post a WMO/WWS (yes - even healers and tanks. We will not accept an app without one)
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/e1wv ... etails/90/
This is a World of Logs from a night we raided a few weeks ago, the last week we actually had a good raid. It is the entire night, so I guess you can look for whatever boss you need to.

3. Post a picture of your raiding UI.
http://imgur.com/x6Pok.jpg

3a. Include your 5 most used keybinds/clique settings.
I use 3 (flameshock), 4 (lavaburst), 2 (lightning bolt), Shift+3 (Elemental Mastery + any trinket), Shift+4 (instant Ghost Wolf which is very handy on Sindragosa, Suarfang)

4. What’s the most time you’ve spent wiping on a boss? What were your thoughts/reactions on that time?
Firefighter comes to mind. Entire raid days spent wiping on this, which really sucked. Recently I spent a lot of time wiping on Heroic 25 Professor Putricide which I really didn't mind at all.

5. What were your previous guilds and why did you leave?
Unreasonable since BC, xfer'd with them to Stormscale, disbanded during Ulduar, stopped raiding for a while and then I joined Blackdawn and after a while I just wasn't getting into raids (Resto MS at the time and one of their officers was a Resto Shaman who liked all the gear at no dkp expense), so I joined Omniscient (as MS Ele) with a ton of my old Unreasonable guildies/RL friends just as ICC began. Omniscient announced today that we're no longer raiding so I started looking for a new home.

5a. Raiding experience in
Original: (From what I can remember) Everything except Naxx and possibly the end of AQ40.
BC: Everything in BC except Sunwell.
Wrath: 10&25 Normal Ruby Sanctum, 11/12 Heroic 10ICC, 10/12 Heroic 25ICC. 4/5 25ToGC, 5/5 10ToGC Insanity (when it was cool), All of Ulduar 10&25 minus Yogg on both.
Please only include real experience (no level 70 MC raids, no 3.0 Sunwell raids, no OS-10 zergs) and only include raids that you were involved in progression on.

5b. Do you have a 310 mount? If not, why?
Yes, I have the 10ICC Frostbrood Vanquisher (my favorite mount), and the Violet Proto.

6. We raid Tues-Thurs, 7:30-11:30 PM PST. Monday's added in on heavy progression, and Thursday removed on farm. What times will you make? Have problems with?
I will be able to make these times.

7. How can you improve yourself (joke answers like "I would become more awesome" will just hurt you as the odds of you being witty and original with that joke are low)
I can improve myself by using more resources like Rawr, which I have started using recently (on a mac), and keeping up with shaman forums which I just started doing again.

8. What do you spend the most time doing outside of WoW?
During the summer: not too much else besides helping out around the house.
I start college again toward the end of August, so that will take up some of my time.

9. Pick a question from another guild's application that you like or one that you wish we'd asked and answer it here. Put a real question - nothing like "Why are you so awesome?"
Taken from Omniscient-Stormscale's current application "We ask that each and every one of our members learn about the fights on their own time, not 5 minutes before the pull. What do you do to make yourself ready for each raid? Please explain."
This question struck me as a very important question at the time, when content was just coming out. Now obviously things are a little different with most content having been out for a while. I agree that it is very important to look up strategies for boss fights before raid, and have done it a lot in the past.

Another friend of mine from the same guild as Rohk. Very active member, have played with him for 4 years or so as well and he is very experienced and loyal. Excellent choice if you ask me.

How does he play with that UI!!

I guess you get used to it, but i'm confused as why you have that big block at the bottom empty, but other timers in the middle of your screen?

Immediately noticing a survivability issue. You died to ghosts on LDW not once, but twice. Why?

You ticked out on PP. This was obviously partly a healing problem as it looks like all you got were some Rejuv ticks. However, you kept the plague on you for too long even when you were at risk. Is there a reason for not using a clutch heal to save yourself? You may lose DPS, but you do 0 DPS when dead - seems like a fair trade to me.

Why are you using stam gems in your gear? We are pushing top-end progression and that requires everyone to at least do simple things like gem and enchant correctly. Those gems along with the cluttered UI that you 'haven't got around to changing' seems a little indicative of a player who doesn't care enough to maximize themselves for raids. Do you agree with this? Please explain why either way.

I'd like to start off saying my current guild is horrible at LDW, mostly because we've lost a lot of people over the summer and the new kids aren't always up to speed. Now on the first death to ghosts, I cannot honestly tell you what happened, but I can tell you that I'm usually very good at dodging them. For the second death to ghosts, I decided to click on "(more)" on my death log and noticed that I was mind controlled, and ended up sitting in the melee as seen by who was hit by the MC Thunderstorm. I believe right as I dropped MC I flame shocked as I was running out of melee but still got hit by the ghost. Having 10k hp out of MC didn't help either.

The reason I ticked out on PP is because the raid leaders often ask me to kill off a plague and ankh if our warlocks don't have SS up in time. I don't think we've had an accidental plague death in a while, even though we've only killed H-Putricide 1 or maybe 2 times.

On to the gems. I have played the same shaman since BC, and we were traditionally low on health until only recently it seems, and with very few options for my blue sockets sp/stam stood out. I don't know Roadrunners' raid composition, but Omniscient always has at least 1 replenishment class/spec. I don't think have ever had a mana issue in ICC with replenishment and full raid buffs, and if even if I did, with as much movement in ICC boss fights I'd never be without a chance to pop off a Thunderstorm while not wasting precious casting time. So I chose sp/stam over sp/mp5 to meet the 2 blue gem requirement on my meta. Sure it's only 300 hp unbuffed, but imo that little extra life could mean I live through something I normally wouldn't.

While to you it may be a cluttered UI, I've gotten pretty used to it for the month or so since I did it. I just downloaded ForteXorcist about 2 weeks ago, and that buff/debuff frame may seem like its in a bad spot, but with only 1 or 2 lines up at a time its a convenient place for me to look. And like I said, the bottom is mostly filled up by grid in a 25man.

Obviously if I'm totally wrong about something feel free to point that out, I'm not a complete tool and can change things accordingly. I really appreciate the questions/constructive criticism, it has been a very long time since anyone actually asked important questions.

As all dps casters need two blue gems to fulfill the meta requirement, Spirit does absolutely nothing for a Shaman of any spec hence the next best choice for an Elemental Shaman being Spell Power/ Stam due to have zero mana issues and stamina being very low for shamans to begin with. I see he only has two Glowing Dreadstone which would be correct.

How do you track totem placement on mobile fights like Putricide or LK? How good are you at keeping searing down full time? Or judging when/where to redrop it on those fights?

Ele shaman have bounced around a lot this expansion. What made you stay with it instead of rerolling or switching specs?

Which fights do you feel really work towards your strengths? Which are an extra challenge to overcome?

To be completely honest, I've rarely had a chance to drop any fire totems other than Totem of Wrath. My guild never had a steady Demo Lock, so my totem buff was needed. When we did have a Demo Lock, which was probably only about 5 times since I've raided with Omniscient, it was definitely a nice change to be able to drop fire ele/searing totems. One of the fights I remember distinctly was normal Putricide quite a while ago and it seemed pretty easy to drop searing if it was about to expire while moving for slimes or malleable goo. I cannot recall a time when we did LK with a Demo Lock or another Ele.
As far as tracking totem placement, I am always vigilant as to where I place my totems, and I try to place them during movement and in central locations.

I love Shaman, and have loved it since I rerolled Horde in BC. Without any other Ele Shamans, and without any Demo Locks Omniscient needed me as Ele, and I had wanted to go back MS Ele since BC. I don't believe in just rerolling the most powerful class every time a class gets buffed or nerfed, especially when there is some benefit to the raid/guild.

I feel like as an Ele shaman Heroic Saurfang can be a strong fight for me. Chain Lightning on adds really helps with damage. Recently I've been glyphing for Thunderstorm because our boomkin got booted. Earthbind and Imp Ghost Wolf are also clutch for getting away from the adds if ranged can't kill all adds in time. Fights where movement is minimal really make me happy. I think ICC as a whole is an extra challenge for Ele, and I can't seem to think of any particular boss encounter at the moment.

Surprised nobody else has addressed this yet, but upon acceptance, would you be willing to switch professions to something that provides a larger dps benefit to yourself? Just wondering as mining provides no real benefit to you as a raiding shaman, and the ~1% crit from skinning is likewise underwhelming, considering the autocrit on lava burst.

Survivability looks fairly decent, although taking 4 malleable hits on putricide is quite a bit, any ideas as to how you could position yourself to better avoid those?

JC and BS possibly? What would you recommend? I don't have a problem with that at all, I just hate spending ungodly amounts of gold on mats so I'd probably keep mining until I can stockpile enough mats for the second profession.

We hadn't been able to attempt H-Putricide in quite a while, and I'll admit needing to be a little more aware of where PP is especially when malleables come out. I think toward the end of the fight there was almost no room on the floor and a lot of ranged got hit by malleable goo. We also have very bad luck with malleable goo landing on the volatile adhesive targets, and people don't call it out or notice because of all the commotion.

I notice that you and Rohk are in the same guild, applying for the same guild. What happens if 1 of you makes it and the other doesn't?

I have some concerns for your numbers, do you feel you are low in comparison to other elemental shamans? I was looking back at 6/12/10 right before our elemental shaman stopped raiding (which I think was the 20% buff) and he did 11.5k on Marrowgar and on 7/13/10 (25% buff) you did 7.8k. I noticed you did do around 40k healing on that pull, but our previous elemental shaman did 0.

You can view that log here:
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-p ... =268&e=446

Were you always Elemental or were you Resto previously? Which one do you prefer to play and why?

Also, as a elemental shaman with the ability to heal - do you find yourself stopping dps to heal?

I've played on the same server as Rohk (3 different servers so far) since Vanilla, even though we didn't know each other until BC. We have also raided in separate guilds a few times in WotLK. We're pretty good friends and I'm sure that if one of us got in, and the other didn't, it wouldn't harm our friendship. We're by no means a package deal, but we thought it would be great to raid with Raehn again.

I do not believe that any of the other guilds on my server ever ran an Ele shaman, and looking for help or comparing numbers was rather difficult because of that. In addition to throwing a few heals I noticed that I was bone spiked twice on that fight, while your Ele was not spiked at all. I always switch to spikes, which is not ideal because I often times can't hit LvB right off cd, and FS drops off the boss. Looks like our fight was a bit longer, probably another bone storm in there too. He also had Reign of the Dead :/ But yes, comparing 7.8k to 11.5k I do appear to be low.

I was MS Resto from partway through BC until ICC came out, even though it has always been my other preferred spec. I love playing both. Raiding as Ele was nice to go back to after healing for so long.

After being Resto for so long I can't help but throw a heal on myself when I get especially low on health, or if a healer dies and the raid is taking a ton of damage I pop a quick heal or two on the lowest raid member or tank to make sure that people survive.

Again from a raid utility standpoint I do recommend Relynq at least from when I played with him he did just fine on survivability and technical fights and is a very adaptive player who will learn fast.
